Legislative Affairs and Policy Communications
The Office of Legislative Affairs and Policy Communications (HPLS) welcomes you to this repository of information and assistance on legislation and policy development activities for the Federal Highway Administration within the U.S. Department of Transportation.
A message from our Director, Allison Rusnak
As the Director of the Office of Legislative Affairs and Policy Communications, my team and I aim to meet the needs of the Federal Highway Administration, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and the U.S. Congress in terms of legislative and policy development. We work closely with stakeholders to analyze congressional proposals related to highways, manage the Agency's development and implementation of highway authorization bills, effectively respond to congressional requests for technical assistance and reports on project statuses, and provide mission-critical briefing materials to FHWA and USDOT officials.
