The third in a series of three webinars on Excellence in Transportation Planning took place on Wednesday July 27, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The webinar featured the award winning projects from the 2010 Transportation Planning Excellence Awards (TPEA), a program which is jointly funded by the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Surface Transportation Environment and Planning Cooperative Research Program (STEP) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) with support from the American Planning Association.
The topics discussed during this webinar included Transportation Planning and Environment, Planning Leadership, Tribal Transportation Planning and Modeling and Technology Applications. Speakers included representatives from FHWA; FTA; Opportunity Link, Incorporated, Montana; Georgia Department of Transportation and Florida Department of Transportation.
Previous webinars were held this fiscal year that featured the other 2010 TPEA winning projects. Topics included Freight Planning; Safety Planning; Public Involvement and Outreach; Livability/Sustainability and Transportation and Land Use Integration.
