The second in a series of three webinars on Excellence in Transportation Planning took place on Wednesday May 11, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time. This webinar featured winning projects from the 2010 Transportation Planning Excellence Awards (TPEA), a program which is jointly funded by the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Surface Transportation Environment and Planning Cooperative Research Program (STEP) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) with support from the American Planning Association.
The topics discussed during this webinar included Livability/Sustainability and Transportation and Land Use Integration. More than 100 participants joined the event.
Speakers included representatives from FHWA; FTA; The City of Salem, Oregon; The City of San José, California; The New York City Department of Transportation, and The Capital District Transportation Committee, Albany, New York.
The third webinar in this series will feature additional 2010 TPEA winning projects. Topics will be Modeling and Technology Applications, Transportation Planning and Environment, Planning Leadership and Tribal Transportation Planning. This final webinar is expected to take place during the summer of 2011.
