AID Demonstration Program

The AID Demonstration program provides funding as an incentive for eligible entities to accelerate the implementation and adoption of innovation in highway transportation. The AID Demonstration program is one initiative under the multi-faceted Technology and Innovation Deployment Program (TIDP) approach providing funding and other resources to offset the risk of trying an innovation. AID Demonstration applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 cycle under Opportunity Number 693JJ324NF-AIDDP through Grants.gov.

Accelerated Innovation Deployment (AID) Demonstration Funding Opportunity Available

The FHWA has published to Grants.gov a multiyear Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the AID Demonstration for Fiscal Years (FY) 2023 - 2026 grants and will result in the distribution of up to $10 million in FY 2023 and up to $12.5 million in each of FYs 2024 - 2026. Funds made available for the AID Demonstration are awarded on a competitive basis to fund activities eligible for assistance under Title 23, United States Code in any phase of a highway transportation between project planning and project delivery including planning, financing, operation, structures, materials, pavements, environment, and construction. The AID Demonstration NOFO is available on Grants.gov. FHWA is not currently accepting applications. Check back for updates on the FY 2025 solicitation in February 2025.
