Jim Hobson is a market analysis with the Maryland Port Administration (MPA). Jim is a native of Maryland with virtually his entire life spent living in the Baltimore metropolitan area. His hobbies include golf, tennis, bicycling and he recently added sailing to his recreational endeavors. Jim is an avid baseball and football fan. He lives in Pasadena, MD with his wife, Judy, and together they have seven grown children and five grandchildren.
Jim is a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Annapolis and the University of Baltimore. As a member of the Baltimore Propeller Club and an employee of the MPA for twenty-five years, Jim has a good grasp of the maritime activities of Baltimore's harbor and ports elsewhere. His job is to compile the tonnage figures for the Port of Baltimore and other competing ports. In addition, Jim analyzes and prepares port tonnage forecasts for MPA management. He occasionally gives speaking presentations and narrates harbor tours aboard the MPA's tour vessel, Mary Lynn.
