Leif Ericson Park Rose Garden
Duluth, Minnesota
Designer: Kent Worley, Architectural Resources, Duluth
Contractors: Johnson Brothers, Litchfield
This 2.5 acre reconstructed park located on top of I-35 provides a dynamic open space, a formal rose garden, and a dramatic view of Lake Superior. The garden features more than 2000 rose bushes of some 99 varieties, and numerous trees, shrubs, and other flowers. It is one of the few formal English Rose Gardens in the United States and stands as a dramatic statement of the essence of effective community partnering in the delivery of public works investments.
