Contractors: Le Grand Johnson Construction Company, Logan, Utah

The reconstruction of State Route 91 through the sensitive Sardine Canyon addressed all the issues of safety, aesthetics, functionality, and blending of the built environment with the natural environment. Some of the features that had to be considered were the nearby Box Elder Creek and its Type A fishery, migrating deer, and wetlands. The final design provided for a five lane limited access highway that preserved the environmental integrity of the canyon.
