Stone Arch Bridge

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Designer:A.G. Lichtenstein and Associates
Contractor:Johnson Brothers Construction

Spanning the Mississippi River in the historical core of downtown Minneapolis, this graceful historical Stone Arch Bridge symbolizes the nineteenth and early twentieth century Railway Age which shaped the city's evolution. This major national landmark has been preserved, architecturally rehabilitated and adopted for public transportation and recreation use. People using the bridge are afforded unmatched views of St. Anthony Falls, the river gorge below the falls, and boat traffic passing through the St. Anthony Falls Upper Locks.
