Advanced Survey Tools & 3D Design Models for Construction Inspection

Contractors have been using advanced surveying practices and 3D models for some time to make their work more productive through virtual planning, clash detection, digital quantity takeoffs, automated machine guidance and other applications. Transportation agencies have been slow to incorporate these highly beneficial practices and technologies to their own construction inspection protocols (e.g. use of GNSS rovers, UASs). This webinar will explore how DOTs might bridge that gap and will specifically consider the lessons learned and workflows from two lead state DOTs, New York and Utah, along with a Q&A panel session of other exploring states.
