1/ The data reported in this table are from the Fiscal Management Information System. Due to rounding, the data may not agree with the summary of obligations contained in report M79 prepared by the Office of Fiscal Services. Negative numbers indicate adjustments to projects.

2/ The "Other" category includes obligations for work that cannot be classified as rural or urban. This work includes highway planning and research, metropolitan planning, etc.

3/ Includes National Highway System Funds as shown in Table FA-6, as well as amounts from other programs that were obligated on the National Highway System.

4/ Prior to 1995, Reconstruction was not split into separate items for added capacity and no added capacity. When Pre-FY 1995 projects are reopened, the improvement type has been recoded, causing negative adjustments to "Pre-FY 1995 Reconstruction" and positive adjustments to the two new Reconstruction items.

5/ These amounts represent adjustments of certain prior year obligations. as transit.
