Pavement Design Policy
In 2018-2019 FHWA conducted a thorough review of pavement design policy and guidance. The review included a listening session, 5 regional peer exchanges, and a national workshop where feedback was obtained from industry, State Department of Transportation (DOT) representatives, and FHWA Division Office representatives. The peer exchanges included an exercise in which State DOT representatives discussed their agency’s pavement design policy and current state of practice. Below is a summary of the information separated into three categories: Pavement Design, Life-Cycle Cost Analysis, and Pavement Policy.
