LOS and Livability: Making the Connection

July 22, 2014 - 2:30PM-4:00PM EDT

Cars on busy street yield to pedestrians.

Overview

The webinar discusses the origin, evolution, and application of LOS and the need for practitioners to choose LOS goals that consider all road users, supports livable communities, and help achieve Context Sensitive Solutions. The roundtable format will feature brief presentations followed by a panel discussion with significant time devoted to audience questions.

The webinar is brought to you by FHWA, in partnership with the Project for Public Spaces and Sevatec.

The webinar highlighted two State Departments of Transportation programs that balance livability and achieving LOS and the North American Sustainable Transportation Council STARS Program that helps planners, communities and decision-makers evaluate the impacts of transportation plans and projects, identify innovative strategies, and improve decision-making.
