FHWA, in partnership with the Project for Public Spaces and Sevatec, is pleased to present a free webinar entitled “Performance-Based Practical Design: Integration into Transportation Projects and Agency Practice.” This webinar explores how two state departments of transportation are integrating performance-based practical design into their projects and agency practices in order to cut costs, reduce impacts on the environment and communities, and promote livability.
The performance-based practical design (PBPD) process relies on engineering judgement and performance-analysis tools to ensure that projects are addressing core purposes, needs, and context over narrow adherence to design values. Building on a previous webinar, this webinar includes presentations from Washington State DOT and Oregon DOT, two leaders on this topic.
