Frank Julian

Frank is a Highway Safety Engineer with the FHWA Resource Center's Safety and Design Team. He has been with FHWA since June, 1986. Frank has worked in FHWA Division Office in Georgia and Florida and the Region Office in Atlanta, Georgia prior to moving to the Resource Center in 1998. Before joining FHWA, Frank worked for 8 years as a construction manager in the Construction Division of an international manufacturing and construction company, H.H. Robertson Company. Other experience includes working 2 years for the Alabama DOT and 1 year for David Volkert and Associates Consulting Engineers in Mobile, Alabama. Frank graduated from Auburn University in 1977 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.

Frank works nationally in all areas of highway safety, but his primary focus is on and developing and deploying countermeasures for roadway departure crashes. This involves working in the areas of roadside design and safety hardware including cable barrier, safety edge, rumble strips, and high friction pavement surfaces.
