The latest additions are in bold

Kelly, Susan Croce and Scott, Quinta, Route 66: The Highway and Its People, University of Oklahoma Press, 1988.

Krim, Arthur, Route 66: Iconography of the American Highway, Center for American Places, Inc., (Distributed by the University of Chicago Press), 2006. (A history of the classic road, its 19th century origins, rise to fame as U.S. Route 66, use in popular culture, and iconic place in our culture.)

Raymer, Dottie, Molly's Route 66 Adventure, Pleasant Company Publications, 2002. (Part of the American Girl Collection, this book is Molly McIntire's "scrapbook" of her 1946 trip along Route 66 from Illinois to California. Like any good scrapbook, it includes menus, pull-out souvenirs, tickets, brochures, and photographs taken along the way. This book is for ages 8 and up.)

Snyder, Tom, Route 66 Traveler's Guide and Roadside Companion, St. Martin's Press, Multiple Editions.

Wallis, Michael, Route 66: The Mother Road, St. Martin's Press, Inc., 1990.

Many other books and magazine articles are available on U.S. Route 66, but they are too numerous to list here.
