Design Guide Implementation Team (DGIT)

About DGIT

FHWA considers implementation of the Mechanistic-Empirical Design Guide for New and Rehabilitated Pavement Structures a critical element in improving the National Highway System. To help move the implementation forward, FHWA intends to provide significant support for these efforts. The completion of the Design Guide project by NCHRP has been delivered and a research grade version is available for evaluation at http://www.trb.org/mepdg/

Because FHWA considers implementation of the new Design Guide one of our highest priorities, a Design Guide Implementation Team (DGIT) has been organized to immediately begin the process of informing, educating, and assisting FHWA's field offices, State highway agencies, industry and others about the new design guide.

Mission

To raise awareness, assist, and support State Highway Agencies and their industry partners in the development and implementation of the new mechanistic-empirical Design Guide.
