HPMS Data Collection WorkshopMarch 8-10, 2005 Organized by the Federal Highway AdministrationThe Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) Data Collection Workshop was held in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 8-10, 2005. Approximately, 100 Federal, State, MPO, and local municipal staff that works closely with collecting, coding, and analyzing data for the HPMS were in attendance. Although this year's workshop theme centered on data collection, other aspects involving the HPMS were discussed, including changes that may result from program reauthorization under new surface transportation legislation, and to explore the framework for an upcoming reassessment of the HPMS, to name a few. Most of all, the opportunity for those to ask questions and/or share ideas with others who maintain and/or use data from the HPMS proved to be most valuable by those attending. If you are interested to learn more about the proceedings from the 2005 HPMS Workshop or know of any issues that need extra attention for future workshops and training modules, please let us know.
