Brickell Avenue Bridge

US Rt. 1 over Miami River, Florida

Designer:Kunde, Speecher & Associates, Inc., Portuondo Perotti Architects, Beaux Art Limited
Contractor:Misener Marine Construction, Inc.

The traditional architectural design for this bridge was the refinement of the winning entry into the Brickell Bridge Gateway Design Competition, an international architectural, open-design competition which produced more than one hundred fifty entries. The traditional form is a symbol which commemorates the city's first centennial. The platforms and niches accommodated artwork - bronze sculptures and bus reliefs which were commissioned from Manuel Carbonnel and installed for the dedication of the bridge.
