Las Vegas Pedestrian Bridges

Las Vegas, Nevada

Designer:Carter Burgess, Inc.
Contractor:Las Vegas Paving Corp.

The goal of the Las Vegas Pedestrian Bridges project was to alleviate traffic congestion at a busy intersection along the Las Vegas strip. Each of the four pedestrian bridges is equipped with stairs, outdoor escalators and elevators. The bridges have benefited pedestrians and motorists alike, providing the former with a safer way to cross the intersection, and the latter with improved traffic flow. Since the pedestrian bridges opened, the number of vehicles using the intersection has increased by nearly 40 percent. The project was the result of a public/private partnership.
