Expert Working Group

The decision-making group which led the 3rd Infantry Division Highway Study is an Expert Working Group (EWG) comprised of representatives from state and regional transportation agencies; federal, state, and regional resource agencies; USDOT Division representatives; and a citizen's advocacy group. This EWG was assembled because of their particular knowledge of this topic and geographic area; they have been tasked with examining the 3rd Infantry Division Highway and to provide unstructured suggestions to guide aspects of the study.

The specific organizations represented on the EWG are identified below and are represented in meetings by staff. In Phase I, the purpose of the EWG was to consider the information provided by the consultant team in the context of other state and regional plans and goals to ensure that the study thoroughly considers the potential impacts of the identified alignments. If Phase II is conducted, the EWG may be expanded or adjusted based on the initial findings and the direction provided.

The EWG provided input into the scope and content of the study. Meetings were held in person with teleconference or videoconference capabilities provided for those who cannot attend.
