The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has organized a 2½-day "pilot" workshop on WIM technology.
The objective of this workshop is to provide guidance to State DOTs on methods of establishing the quality of WIM equipment and traffic data collected for research studies, national reporting, and input to pavement design programs like the M-E PDG.
In addition to a discussion on WIM technology and data collection, the workshop will also provide an opportunity to brainstorm and share ideas. The purpose of this discussion is to identify concerns and improve upon best practices.
The workshop is designed for State DOT personnel responsible for collecting and using traffic loading data for a variety of purposes.
