Footnotes

1/ This table shows gross volume of gasoline reported by wholesale distributors in each State. The data are taken from State taxation reports and may reflect time lags of 6 weeks or more between the wholesale and retail levels. The data include highway use, nonhighway use, and losses. The gross volume shown in this table will not agree with that in table MF-21. Table MF-21 reflects adjustments made to eliminate exports and military use and to limit percentage loss allowances to a maximum of 1 percent. In States where jet fuel was initially included with aviation gasoline, the jet fuel has been deducted.

2/ The total may not equal the sum of the months due to independent rounding.

3/ Rhode Island data is for 2004, as 2005 data was not provided by the state.
