Accelerated Implementation and Deployment of Pavement Technologies
Congress established the Accelerated Implementation and Deployment of Pavement Technologies (AID-PT) program in 2012 under the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (Public Law 112-141). The program was continued in the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act (Public Law 114-94), and in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) (Public Law 117-58). The program’s purpose is to document, demonstrate, and deploy innovative pavement technologies—including their applications, performance, and benefits. FHWA is leveraging Federal investments through relationships with State transportation agencies and others to maximize the impact of the program, effectively amplifying benefits to the traveling public.
