As part of the FHWA’s Livability Initiative, FHWA works with a number of government offices to support livability by integrating human environment and community considerations into transportation program delivery. These include the Partnership for Sustainable Communities (PSC), Environmental Justice (EJ), Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), and Bicycle and Pedestrian Activities.
These focus areas advance livability and the integration of human environment and community considerations into transportation program delivery to enhance where people live, work, and recreate.
