Building Information Modeling (BIM) for Infrastructure

What is BIM?

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an intelligent 3D model-based approach that gives engineering and construction professionals the insight and tools to more efficiently plan, design, and build highways and bridges. The days of sharing documents with via copy plan sets and files from silo to silo through an asset’s life are diminishing. With BIM, all project data from planning to decommissioning is shared electronically with ready access for all involved in the planning, building, and maintenance processes, providing more efficient data exchange.
