Accelerated Construction Technology Transfer Toolkit

Archived: How do I get started?

An agency's first step in the ACTT process is selecting a highway project or corridor. ACTT is most helpful when applied during the early project development phase. The agency then contacts the Accelerated Construction Management Team (ACMT) and submits a proposal to host an ACTT Workshop, providing details on the project, the timeline and goals. A copy of the proposal is also submitted to the FHWA Division office.

A half-day pre-workshop meeting is soon conducted to help select appropriate Skill Sets, identify local contacts, and discuss workshop goals, logistics and details. A workshop date is chosen and the appropriate ACTT Skill Set Team Leaders are notified so they can identify the national experts who will participate.

The resources in this chapter help a host agency prepare a proposal for an ACTT workshop, plan a pre-workshop meeting, and create the meeting agenda. Details of workshop preparation and implementation are provided in subsequent chapters.
