SHRP2 Education Connection

Incorporating SHRP2 Solutions into Academia

TThe SHRP2 Education Connection initiative was designed with the goal to arm the next generation of transportation professionals with SHRP2 Solutions while they are still in school. By doing this, students are equipped with innovative, cutting-edge solutions to the real-world situations they will encounter in their careers.

Round 1

The first round of SHRP2 Education Connection was a success. In 2015, the FHWA awarded 10 universities with $10,000-cooperative agreements to integrate their choice of one or more SHRP2 Solutions into their existing curriculum. The universities met this challenge introducing SHRP2 Solutions in course studies for the fall and spring semesters of the 2015-16 academic year. The first round of SHRP2 Education Connection brought a total of 22 SHRP2 products or product bundles into classrooms across the country.

Round 2

The second round of SHRP2 Education Connection awarded five universities with cooperative agreements totaling more than $55,000 to incorporate solutions from the Reliability, Renewal, and Capacity focus areas.
