New Resources Available as Participation In Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Training Grows

First responders who have participated in the National Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Responder Training Program (L12/L32) are already saving lives. This Federal Highway Administration training helps reduce safety risks and mitigate congestion delays caused by accidents. More than 68,000 fire fighters, police, and other first responders have received the collaborative, team-based training, and participation will soon meet and exceed an interim goal of 100,000 trained professionals. Ten train-the-trainer courses are planned from now through December of this year across the country, and a supplemental web-based component provides both immediate training until a course is available in your area as well as refresher training after you attend an on-site course.

In addition to the training, a new video describes the need for a national, multidisciplinary training curriculum and presents testimonials from first responders. Links to these resources as well as State training points of contact and updated implementation statistics can be found on the National TIM Responder Training Program product page.

If you are interested in attending the training or are a trainer ready to help us reach more first responders, contact your State TIM training point of contact, learn more about supplemental Web-based training, and share the new video with your professional network.
