In December 13, 2018, the City of Hamilton established a roadway maintenance fee to be paid by utility customers within the city limits. The fee set in amounts which will provide funds to properly maintain the city transportation system. The methodology of allocating the roadway maintenance fee on the basis of “trips,” appropriately balances costs between residential and commercial users. A flat fee is charged to residential and commercial properties. A separate and dedicated fund known as the Roadway maintenance Fund for the purpose of construction and maintenance of the transportation system was established. Collection of the fee shall be made by a monthly charge to be added to the city Municipal Account Statement beginning with the first utility bill after January 1, 2019.
