Trips taken most often by car or other vehicle

One-half of the trips taken most often by car or other vehicle are for commuting to work or school. Fifty-one percent of trips taken by car or other vehicle are for commutes to work and/or school; 27 percent are for shopping and errands; 11 percent are recreational and social; 6 percent are for work-related trips; and 5 percent are for other purposes. The source of this data is the Operations and Planning/Environment Survey.
