Overall satisfaction with work zones

  • Construction signs. In 2000, 79 percent were "satisfied" or "very satisfied"; 6 percent were "neither/don't know"; and 15 percent were "dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied." In 1995, 67 percent were "satisfied" or "very satisfied"; 21 percent were "neither/don't know"; and 12 percent were "dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied."
  • Safety features. In 2000, 74 percent were "satisfied" or "very satisfied"; 7 percent were "neither/don't know"; and 19 percent were "dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied." Data for safety features were not collected in 1995.
  • Detour signs/directions. In 2000, 72 percent were "satisfied" or "very satisfied"; 7 percent were "neither/don't know"; and 21 percent were "dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied." In 1995, 53 percent were "satisfied" or "very satisfied"; 29 percent were "neither/don't know"; and 18 percent were "dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied."
  • Speed of repair. In 2000, 43 percent were "satisfied" or "very satisfied"; 10 percent were "neither/don't know"; and 47 percent were "dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied." Data for speed of repair were not collected in 1995.
  • Traffic congestion. In 2000, 41 percent were "satisfied" or "very satisfied"; 12 percent were "neither/don't know"; and 47 percent were "dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied." Data for traffic congestion were not collected in 1995.
  • Time delays. In 2000, 36 percent were "satisfied" or "very satisfied"; 16 percent were "neither/don't know"; and 48 percent were "dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied." In 1995, 29 percent were "satisfied" or "very satisfied"; 33 percent were "neither/don't know"; and 38 percent were "dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied."
